Visit at the Farm

Gelindo dei Magredi is an organized and peaceful rural tourism center located in the green countryside of Vivaro, in the Magredi park, a large grassland (Special Protection Area for birdlife) at the confluence of the Cellina, Meduna and Colvera rivers and placed at the feet of the Friuli Dolomites.

The Trevisanutto family set up the farm in 1970 as a model of sustainable agricultural production for agritourism and an educational center for learning about agricultural activities: the Educational Farm.

Today the structure consists of:

• a large farm in which the restaurant (with its different rooms able to host both meals, banquets, events as well as meeting/conferences and training course) is located
• the agritouristic accommodations, with rooms equipped with private bathrooms, TV and climate
• the Red House, with a small room equipped with a "fogolâr" (fireplace) in Friuli style
• the old Lataria, home of the former dairy of Vivaro and now Agriturismo with restaurant and rooms
• agricamping with a small lake and games for children
• the Educational Farm with laboratories
• the solarium area with 2 swimming pools, one of which for children

The shady pastures, the organic vegetable gardens and orchards, the vineyards, the cellar, the small museum of peasant life, the functional stables with riding school fields and covered riding stables complete the structure.

The farm covers 15 hectares cultivated with cereals, fodder, vineyards, organic and traditional orchards, vegetables grown in greenhouses and open fields. Particular attention is paid to fruit and vegetables whose production is largely transformed into jams and preserves. The farms consist of heifers, pigs, poultry, horses and donkeys.

Agricultural crops are used in the following way:

• cereals and fodder are fed to animals
• the animals are raised almost exclusively to be used in the restaurants
• the grapes are transformed into wine
• the fruit and vegetables are sold directly to the consumer (farm market) and, to a large extent, are transformed in the authorized laboratory of Vicolo Centrico 14

A visit to the farm allows you to collect the fruit and vegetables you want and take it home (in agreed quantities) or you could turn it into a jam and or a preserve with a personalized label - a tasty memory of your visit.

All this makes Gelinedo dei Magredi an ideal Country Resort for both a short stay and a holiday dedicated to "living well".

Inherent in the DNA is the attention and respect for nature, which is why Gelindo dei Magredi is constantly on the move to become more and more eco-sustainable. Part of the farm's production is already organic, while many other raw materials and products are currently in conversion. The structure is equipped with green systems and supplies or those aimed at energy self-sufficiency and will soon also be available the columns for charging electric cars.
